Hello everyone, my name is Luuk, I am a 29 year old scientist from the Netherlands, it is nice to meet you! In this post I will shortly introduce myself, including the good bits but also some of my struggles and why I decided to start this blog.

First things first, about me. As said, I was born in the Netherlands. In Oss, a small town in the middle of the country to be precise. I grew up there and completed my primary and secondary education before starting a Bachelor in physics and astronomy at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, a bit larger city between the rivers the Waal and Maas near the German border. I had a very good time in Nijmegen, where I was living for the first time on my own in a student dormitory. I was also part of a student society, did some tutoring and was board member for some of the university student committees. A very busy but rewarding time with also some problems as I might explain some time in my future blog posts.

After this I moved abroad for my MSc. in theoretical physics at the university of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Hobbies and interests.

These were some of the good bits but the reason I started to write this blog is that I believe that behind every person with there appearance and successes there also exists also a more personal and vulnerable side with all kinds of personal struggles. At the same, I think that many people are afraid to share their struggles or their vulnerable side while that potentially could help others, especially men who are told to man up, be confident, and that sort of stuff.
